Program for Making Vector Halftone Patterns

By Cory • Nov 21st, 2009 • Category: Around the Web

My halftone tutorials are fairly popular items on this blog, so I thought I’d look around for some other halftone tutorials. What I found was a great article on 3 vector halftone programs. I ended up purchasing Vectorraster from Lost Minds. It was only $20, and they let you download a free trial first.

I haven’t played around with it too much, but I was really impressed with the results. What I really like is that it makes perfectly round circles. Here is my initial experiment. I took a burst I had and created a halftone out of it with vectorraster. Then, I took it all back into Illustrator and ended up with the Sumo wrestler.
